In a show of solidarity and unwavering support for businessman and energy mogul, Mr. Leno Adesanya, the Mambilla Royal Council was in full attendance at the traditional wedding ceremony of his daughter, Leona Adesanya, to Mr. Asa Asika, renowned talent manager and associate of music star, Davido.
The King of the Sardauna Ruling Council, His Royal Highness Audu Shehu Baju, led the royal entourage, which included several prominent title holders. Dr. Abubarkar Garba (Jagaban Mambilla). Dr. Hassan Haman Ali-Yusuf, (Maidala Mambilla) who spoke on behalf of the council.
Dr. Hassan disclosed that Mr. Adesanya and his company, Sunrise Power, have maintained a longstanding relationship with the Mambilla people spanning over 15 years. He affirmed that Adesanya remains the only local-content representative consistently associated with the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project.
He stated that despite the challenges currently confronting Adesanya with the Federal Government, the Mambilla Council and the people will not abandon him and pray for amicable resolution with FGN.
According to him, Adesanya is not only a respected title holder within the kingdom but also owns landed property on which he intends to construct an airstrip and staff quarters to accommodate international partners working on the Mambilla hydro project.
Dr. Hassan further expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s determination to finally break the jinx surrounding the stalled project.
He voiced optimism that the Tinubu administration would revamp and operationalize the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project before the end of the President’s first term.
Mr. Asa Asika, who was previously engaged to Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, is now married to Ms. Leona Adesanya—a First Class graduate of King’s College London and the first daughter of Leno Adesanya.
The couple’s white wedding is scheduled to take place later this year in London, United Kingdom, with top international celebrities expected to attend.
The colourful traditional ceremony witnessed the presence of numerous dignitaries and prominent Nigerians, further adding glamour to the memorable occasion.
