Sources from the area disclosed that two individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the attack, which occurred around 11:00 a.m. as residents went about their daily activities.
Shapi’i Sambo, a youth leader in the community, confirmed the incident yesterday.
He said the assailants arrived with sophisticated weapons and fired sporadically to frighten residents before abducting the victims.
“When the gunmen arrived, people were going about their normal activities. They started shooting sporadically to disperse residents. Many fled for safety. Unfortunately, a man, his wife, and child were abducted,” Sambo said.
He added that security operatives and vigilante members had ventured into the bush in a bid to rescue the victims. “Two persons sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Dogon Ruwa for treatment,” he said.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, for comments were unsuccessful as of press time.
