A fire outbreak on Thursday gutted a solar training office in Ibadan, Oyo State, destroying electrical appliances, gadgets, and other equipment worth millions of naira.

The incident occurred on the upper floor of the Salinsile building, which houses Sun Watt’s Solar and Electrical Company.

Confirming the development, Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, said the fire was reported at 6:12 pm and promptly contained to prevent it from spreading to other sections of the building.

“Our officers swung into action, curtailed the fire, and successfully extinguished it. Properties worth millions of naira were saved, and no casualties were recorded,” Akinwande said.

He added that the immediate cause of the inferno has not yet been established, noting that a post-incident investigation is ongoing.
