The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, has secured the conviction of 25 traffic offenders at a mobile court sitting at its headquarters in Abeokuta.
Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo convicted the offenders for violations including Speed Limit Device and Driver’s Licence offences, overloading, seatbelt infractions, as well as vehicle licence and number plate breaches. None of the offenders received prison sentences.
The FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, Afolabi Odunsi, said in a statement yesterday that 46 offences were recorded, with 25 offenders arraigned and convicted.
Odunsi stated that the zero-discharge rate reflects the precision of the FRSC’s enforcement and the court’s commitment to holding traffic violators accountable. He added that the judgment would serve as a deterrent, noting that the command maintains a “zero tolerance” stance on road traffic infractions to safeguard lives and property.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, said the mobile court exercise remains a key component of the command’s enforcement strategy aimed at reducing road crashes and fatalities.
