My administration prioritises security in Plateau — Mutfwang
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has said that his administration has prioritised security in the state because of its importance in driving economic growth, social stability, and overall development.
Mutfwang stated this on Friday night at the Plateau State Police Command’s end-of-year and award night held at Crispan Hotel, Jos.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Samuel Jatau, acknowledged the critical roles that the police play in ensuring that Plateau State is safe.
He assured the police of the government’s support and commended the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Emmanuel Adesina, for recognizing hardworking officers.
The governor also refuted the negative narrative that Plateau is not safe, emphasizing that the state remains the hub of peace and tourism.
The Commissioner of Police, Adesina, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the governor and all individuals and organizations that supported the command throughout the year 2024. He equally expressed gratitude to other sister security agencies who helped to reduce insecurity in the state.
Adesina emphatically attributed the success the command achieved to the enormous support received from the governor.
The event marked a joyous celebration of the achievements of the command over the preceding year, aiming to boost the morale of the dedicated officers and inspire them to achieve greater heights in the coming year.
Notable individuals and other security officers graced the event, while awards were given to the governor, deserving police officers, and others.
A minute’s silence was observed in honor of the fallen police officers.
