NAF airlifts First Lady’s relief materials to Borno flood victims
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has completed the airlift of relief materials donated by the First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to victims of the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, yesterday, he confirmed that the materials, donated under the First Lady’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’, were transported from Abuja to Maiduguri on Wednesday using a NAF C-130 aircraft.
Akinboyewa noted that the airlift was part of NAF’s commitment to providing aid to civil authorities.
The items donated include food, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, aimed at providing relief to communities affected by the devastating floods in Maiduguri on September 10.
He further disclosed that NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, received the materials in Maiduguri before being handed over to the state government for distribution to the victims.
The airlift mission, Akinboyewa added, underscores NAF’s dedication to providing timely humanitarian assistance, particularly to regions severely affected by natural disasters.
He also highlighted the collaboration between the First Lady’s office and NAF, stressing the importance of collective efforts to ease the suffering of those impacted by the flood.
