Niger NSCDC decorates 76 newly promoted officers

The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has decorated 76 newly promoted officers with their new ranks at a ceremony held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the command headquarters on David Mark Road, Tunga, Minna.

The promotion breakdown includes six Senior Assistant Commandants elevated to Deputy Commandants; 10 Chief Superintendents promoted to Assistant Commandants; six Superintendents elevated to Chief Superintendents; 15 Deputy Superintendents promoted to Superintendents; eight Assistant Superintendents I elevated to Deputy Superintendents; 23 Assistant Superintendents II promoted to Assistant Superintendents I; and six Inspectors elevated to Assistant Superintendents II.

Addressing the officers, NSCDC Niger State Commandant, Adamu Abdullahi Kambra, urged the personnel to perform their duties diligently to meet the demands of their new ranks.

“You are expected to carry out your Civil Defence responsibilities with seriousness, protecting national assets and infrastructure across the country and within Niger State,” Kambra said.

Kambra reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining a crime-free environment in the state and warned criminals to relocate, stating that “it will no longer be business as usual.”

Retired Deputy Commandant General Cladius Yakubu, the special guest of honour, led the decoration of senior officers promoted to Deputy and Assistant Commandants, assisted by retired ACG Jibrin Shuaib. Senior officers from Zone “D” headquarters, alongside spouses and representatives of other security agencies, also attended the event to celebrate with the newly promoted officers.
