Ogun State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, said it has begun a recruitment exercise for an additional 1,000 personnel across the 20 local councils to boost security operations within the state.
The Corps’ Commander, Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba (rtd), who stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday, said that the Corps’ 2026 recruitment exercise was part of the move by Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration to strengthen security at the local councils across the state.
Adedigba said that the recruitment of new intakes was a deliberate strategy to combat crime and criminality, as well as to aid intelligence-driven policing at the grassroots, border corridors, and other vulnerable flashpoints demanding swift surveillance and rapid intervention.
He said that the purpose of the recruitment exercise was to improve Amotekun as a community-oriented security outfit that complements other security personnel in operations to maintain peace and public order.
The commander, however, announced that interested candidates are invited to submit their applications at no cost via the official website: ogunsateamotekun.com.ng.
He said that the application window will be open from Thursday, February 26, to Friday, March 13, 2026, and applicants are advised to carefully review eligibility requirements, documentation guidelines, and physical standards before submission.
Adedigba said that after the application, a thorough screening exercise is scheduled to take place from Monday, March 23, to April 8, 2026. Prospective applicants are encouraged to prepare adequately and follow the guidelines provided to ensure a smooth screening process.
He said that the recruitment process is strictly merit-based, transparent, and free. Members of the public are therefore cautioned against falling victim to fraudsters or unauthorised individuals demanding payment in connection with the exercise.
The commander, therefore, urged members of the public to visit the Corps’ official website or contact our helplines at 09016848812, 09155434770, and 07071099133 for more information.
