A driver of an unregistered Honda Accord vehicle fatally struck one person after colliding with a motorcycle on the Oru-Ijebu Igbo road in the Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to a Sunday statement by the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, the accident occurred at around 8 pm on Saturday.

Akinbiyi stated that three people were involved in the crash, leaving two injured and one dead.

The TRACE spokesperson attributed the accident to reckless driving by the Honda Accord driver.

“A fatal road crash occurred along the Oru-Ijebu Igbo road near DePotter College of Health in Ijebu North LGA. The vehicles involved include a Honda Accord without a registration number and a TVS motorcycle with registration number JBD 142 VZ,” Akinbiyi said.

“According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused by reckless driving on the part of the Honda Accord driver. Three people were involved in the accident. Two sustained varying degrees of injuries, while one person died.”

The injured victims were taken to the Ijebu-Igbo General Hospital for treatment, while the deceased’s body was deposited in the hospital’s morgue.
