Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Daniel Amah, recognized for rejecting a $200,000 bribe from armed robbery suspects, was honoured by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, on January 8, 2025, at the Emir’s palace.

The Emir commended Amah for his integrity and urged him to seek Islamic knowledge while upholding the five pillars of Islam: belief in Allah, daily prayers, fasting during Ramadan, pilgrimage to Mecca, and charitable giving (Zakat).
He also advised Amah to remain respectful and obedient to his parents, regardless of their religious beliefs.
Amah’s decision to reject the bribe in April 2022, when he was the Divisional Police Officer in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, brought him national attention.
The suspects had stolen over N300 million and offered him the bribe to avoid prosecution.
For his actions, Amah was promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police in November 2022 and received the 2022 Public Service Integrity Award from former President Muhammadu Buhari.
