
The Police in Ekiti, on Monday, arraigned a 27-year-old man, Oladeru Gbenga, who allegedly stole 19 kegs of diesel.

The defendant, who has no fixed address, is standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and breach of peace.
He, however, pleaded not guilty before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecutor, Insp Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant committed the offenses from May to September at Housing Estate Extension, off Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendant stole 19 kegs of 30 liters of diesel each, adding that the diesel was worth N741,000 and belonged to one Mr. Olujobi Sunday.

Oriyomi added that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.
He said that the complainant accommodated the defendant in his house during which he stole the diesel.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 302 and 181(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000 with one surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Oct. 8 for hearing.
