One Emmanuel Nwachukwu, 26, Abel Odiete, 28, Chinedu Ihechi, 27, Divine Eta, 27, Boniface Isiah, 32 and Titilayo Campos appeared in the court on Monday, charged with conspiracy, felony to wit grievous harm, kidnapping, unlawful deprivation and stealing.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the counts.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendants committed the offence at about 10.a.m at a hotel in Parafa area of Ikorodu, Lagos.

Famuyiwa said that the defendant conspired to intimidate with intent to unlawfully confine and detain one Kapo Muniru and Oyedeji Samuel, who were the complainants at the hotel.

She said that they unlawfully deprived the complainants of their personal liberty and forcefully collected their phones with intimidation.

The Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N2 million each with two sureties in like sum.

Ogbe added that one of the surety must be a landlord with landed property and three years evidence of tax payment while the second surety must also have a company in Lagos State.
