Police arrest 10 over Anambra pig farmer’s kidnap, murder

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a pig farmer in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

The victim, identified as Ozor Chido, was reportedly abducted by masked assailants on the morning of June 19, 2025, at his pig farm.

His lifeless body was later found dumped near the same farm on June 23.

In a statement released on Sunday, the spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu arrested the suspects on Saturday following an investigation.

“Police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, on 28th June 2025, arrested 10 suspects in connection with the ongoing investigation into the recovered lifeless body of an alleged kidnap victim near a piggery farm in Nimo on June 23, 2025,” the statement read.

Ikenga further noted that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation, and the command will proceed with the next steps as directed by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu.

“Further developments will be communicated in due course,” Ikenga added.
