The police in Nasarawa State arrested 31 suspects for alleged involvement in criminal activities in July 2024. The state’s Commissioner of Police, Shehu Umar Nadada, who disclosed this while addressing the media, said the suspects include 11 kidnappers, six arms dealers, 13 armed robbers and one homicide case.

Nadada said during the period, the command made significant recoveries. Some of the items recovered include five firearms, 1,080 ammunition, five magazines, 20 wrappers, four motorcycles, one vehicle, 96 bags of 50 kg rice, 13 laptops, phones and televisions.

The CP noted that all the arrests were made because members of the public gave credible information to the command, which was quickly responded to. He also stated that some suspects gave credible information about others, and the command has commenced investigations to arrest all those on the wanted list.

“I want to assert that the command under my leadership will not relent but fiercely clamp down on criminals until they are subjugated.

“We appeal to all the good people of Nasarawa State to count on us and avail to us credible information that will help to reduce crime to its barest in the state,” Nadada added.
