Security operatives in Kaduna State have arrested a suspected drug supplier to bandits, a terrorist group leader, and a child trafficking syndicate, while also recovering arms, ammunition, and rustled livestock.
The State Police Command, in a statement issued on Thursday by its spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the breakthrough followed a series of intelligence-led operations across the state.
According to him, on September 29, 2025, at about 4:00 pm, operatives of the Maraban Jos Division surveillance team arrested a suspected drug supplier, identified as Franklin Ozo of Danmagaji, Zaria. He was found in possession of large quantities of Exol tablets valued at millions of naira.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the illicit drugs were ordered for delivery to Kidandan and Giwa, where they were intended for consumption by bandits,” Hassan said, adding that the suspect is in custody while investigations continue.
On the same day, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested a notorious terrorist group leader, Alhaji Sani, popularly known as Dan Gude, at Doka Ilu village in Giwa Local Government Area.
Items recovered from him included one fabricated AK-47 rifle, two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and one AK-47 magazine.
Hassan said discreet investigation is ongoing to trace the source of the firearm and apprehend other accomplices.
The police also made a breakthrough against human trafficking. On September 22, 2025, at about 4:30 pm, operatives arrested a suspected child trafficker, Khadija Ibrahim, at Narayi, Kaduna. She was found in possession of a child later identified as Abdulmumin.
“Further investigation led to the arrest of two accomplices, Daniel Samuel of Narayi and Danjuma Makoshi, and the rescue of another victim, five-year-old Ibrahim Bilyaminu, from Gusau, Zamfara State,” Hassan disclosed.
“The rescued children are safe and under police protection, while investigations continue to unravel the full network of the trafficking syndicate.”
In another development, Hassan revealed that on September 30, 2025, at about 7:15 pm, 60 cows and 25 sheep earlier rustled were recovered with the assistance of a repentant bandit and returned to their rightful owner.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, reiterated the Command’s determination to combat drug trafficking, arms proliferation, and related crimes fueling insecurity in the state.
He also warned criminal elements involved in child trafficking and other illegal activities to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
