Officers of the Onikan Division, Lagos State, have arrested a suspect in connection with the vandalism of aluminum railings on the bridge near the Old School of Nursing, inward Third Mainland Bridge.

Acting on a tip-off, the police responded swiftly to reports of the criminal activities, which took place during the early hours of the day.

The suspect, identified as Yakubu Yusuf, a 28-year-old male, was apprehended at the scene.

During the arrest, law enforcement officers recovered 21 long pieces of aluminum railings believed to have been detached from the bridge by Yusuf and his accomplices.

The police have launched an investigation to track down other individuals involved, as some suspects managed to flee the scene before officers arrived.

They urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as efforts intensify to arrest the fleeing culprits.

The Lagos State Police Command further assured the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety of public infrastructure and deterring criminal activities in the area.
