The Niger State Police Command has arrested three suspects involved in the theft and sale of a stolen truck.

Police operatives attached to the Maje Division in Suleja Local Council apprehended Nura Ibrahim, Adamu Ibrahim, and Abdulfatai Ibrahim, all residents of Kaduna Road, Suleja, for their roles in the crime .

According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were arrested following a report on October 14, 2024, around 1:00 p.m., that a white tipper truck, with engine number 071231 and chassis number AZ1642440082, valued at over N30 million, had been located at a workshop along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway in Suleja. The truck was suspected to be stolen.

Police investigations revealed that Nura Ibrahim, aged 37, had stolen the truck from the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and transported it to Suleja. He had negotiated to sell the vehicle to Adamu Ibrahim, alias Dan Borno, for N9.5 million.

The suspects had begun dismantling the truck for sale in parts when police arrived at the scene. Abdulfatai Ibrahim was found to have facilitated the illegal transaction.

SP Abiodun stated that the suspects are under investigation and will be charged in court soon.

In a separate development, the Delta State Police Command arrested a man, identified as Amadasu Victor, for attempting to purchase an AK-47 rifle.

The suspect admitted he intended to use the firearm to become the leader of the Vikings Confraternity, a notorious cult group.

Delta Police Command spokesperson Edafe Bright shared a video yesterday in which Victor was seen negotiating to buy an AK-47 rifle for N1.3 million from kidnappers.

“We caught this young man negotiating to buy an AK-47 for N1.3 million,” Bright stated.

Victor confessed during his arrest, saying, “I was arrested because I wanted to buy an AK-47.”

He explained that owning an AK-47 was part of the requirements to ascend to the leadership of the Vikings Confraternity.

The suspect was apprehended at a hotel during the negotiation and admitted to managing a car wash and engaging in internet fraud, known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”
