The Niger State Police Command has re-arrested an escaped inmate found in possession of illicit substances and suspected stolen items in Suleja.
On October 15, 2025, at about 8:30 p.m., a police surveillance team attached to ‘B’ Division Suleja, while on routine patrol along Suleja-Madalla road, intercepted one Jemilu Ibrahim of Timber-shed area, Kwata Madalla, with a container containing illicit substances and other suspected stolen items, including Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and phones.
In a statement issued in Minna, the spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, explained that a preliminary investigation revealed that Ibrahim was involved in a robbery case involving firearms and had been prosecuted.
The statement further revealed that Jamilu Ibrahim was among the inmates who escaped in 2024 following the wall collapse at Suleja Correctional Centre during a heavy downpour.
