Residents and businesses in Lokoja and surrounding areas are experiencing power outages following a technical fault on a key transformer, according to Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC).

The outage affects multiple locations, including Koton Karfe, Kerif, Gagu, Banda, Fertilizer Coy, Felele, Star Times, GRA, Township, Lokogoma, parts of Phase 1 and Phase 2, Workers Village, Zone 8, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) facility, Government House, Specialist Hospital, and the Federal Medical Centre (FMC).

AEDC said in a statement on Monday that the disruption was caused by a technical issue with the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s (TCN) 60MVA 132/33kV Transforme Lokoja (TS).

“TCN’s technical team is working tirelessly to restore power as quickly as possible,” AEDC assured customers.

The company apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage and urged patience as repairs progressed.
