Salah: Adedoyin urges unity beyond politics

Saleeman Adedoyin

The Founder and Chairman of the SAS Foundation, Engr. Saleeman Adedoyin, has urged unity among Kwarans by resisting division as political activities for the 2027 elections hot up in the state.

Adedoyin made the appeal in his Eid-el-Adha goodwill message to the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as well as Muslims in Kwara, Nigeria and the world.

He described Eid-el-Adha as a sacred celebration that embodies the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, compassion and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

According to him, “the festival serves as a reminder of the need for peaceful coexistence, unity, love and service to humanity, especially at a period when political interests could threaten social harmony.

“As the political tides become heightened, we must not allow politics to divide us. The unity, harmony and peaceful coexistence that Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State are known for must remain our collective priority,” he said.

Adedoyin urged residents across political and social divides to regard selves as a people with shared cultural values, history and aspirations, noting that Eid-el-Adha remains a significant occasion that reinforces the values of faith, sacrifice, selflessness and devotion to Allah.

“I extend my heartfelt felicitations to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, and to all Muslim faithful celebrating the blessed season. May this period inspire us to strengthen our commitment to peace, unity and humanity,” he sought.

The SAS Foundation helmsman also commended Muslims for their steadfast devotion and acts of worship during the season, praying that Allah accepts their sacrifices, supplications and acts of obedience.

He equally urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to extend kindness and support to the less privileged and vulnerable members of society, noting that the true essence of Eid lies in empathy, sharing and compassion.

“As we celebrate, let us remember those in need and continue to extend love and support to one another. The values of kindness, sacrifice and compassion should remain part of our daily lives beyond the festive season,” he said.

Adedoyin also called for sustained prayers for peace, unity and development of Kwara State and Nigeria, insisting that collective efforts and prayers remain vital to national progress and stability.

“In these challenging times, our unity remains our greatest strength. Let us continue to pray for our leaders and work together for the growth, peace and prosperity of our dear state and country,” he added.
