Terrorists have again struck and raided Tenibo community in Kaiama local government area of Kwara state, killing three mobile police officers.

It would be recalled that terrorists killed three soldiers at Kemanji community eleven days ago during an over two hours shootings between the two groups.

So far, the incident brings number of security operatives killed to six within two weeks.

The Guardian reliably gathered that the latest development caused pandemonium in Tenibo and neighbouring communities as residents have started relocating from their various ancestral homes to safer communities.

According to findings, the latest tragedy happened in the wee hours of Saturday.

An eyewitness said the terrorists must have lurked in the thick forrest Friday night till 12:am when they attacked the security base and shot three mobile police officers dead.

Local sources who confided in our reporter that the terrorists apparently overwhelmed the security base as they escaped to the thick forests after killing the policemen.

He said: “security officers now appeared to be their latest targets because they always retreat to the thick forests after perpetrating their act.”

A staff of Kaiama local government (names withheld) also confirmed the development.

A locale, who preferred not to be mentioned, urged government to clear the thick forests and allow residents to farm there instead of leaving it for the terrorists to hibernate.

“The thick forests where the terrorists are hiding is just about a kilometre to the community, it makes it easy for them to come out, attack the security people and return there.

”I know the place is very big, but the government can afford to clear the whole place, chase away the terrorists and encourage residents to be farming there. This would largely stop the killings.

“Government can’t just be looking while terrorists kill soldiers and our police like chicken, they’re also human beings like us . Something must be urgently done.”he said.

Chairman of Kaima local government, Alhaji Abubakar Danladi confirmed the development in an interview with The Guardian on Saturday.

“Yes, the development again happened this morning, the terrorists killed three of our mobile police officers.

“The local government is trying its best, we are evolving a synergy with state and Federal Government to stop this kind of unfortunate development, it’s not something we can do alone.” he regretted.
