Three injured in multiple auto crash along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Three people were injured yesterday in a multiple accident opposite SGR Filling Station along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The crash involved a Scania vehicle with registration number XMC 380, a Mitsubishi Fuso with an unknown registration number, and a Mack truck with registration number GMD 380 XA.

Spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying eight people were involved but only three sustained injuries. There were no fatalities.

Akinbiyi attributed the cause of the crash to excessive speeding by the Mitsubishi driver, who rammed into the Scania from behind, forcing it to collide with a moving truck ahead.

He added that operatives of TRACE and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were at the scene for rescue operations.

According to him, the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere-Remo, while the vehicles involved were towed away to clear the road and restore normal traffic flow.
