Three persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in a multiple auto crash that occurred on Tuesday opposite the SGR Filling Station along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
The vehicles involved in the crash included a Scania truck with registration number XMC 380, a Mitsubishi Fuso with an unknown registration number, and a Mack truck with registration number GMD 380 XA.
Spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Abeokuta.
According to Akinbiyi, eight people were involved in the accident, but only three sustained injuries, while no fatalities were recorded.
He explained that the crash resulted from the driver of the Mitsubishi Fuso exceeding the speed limit, who then rammed into the Scania truck from behind, causing it to collide with a moving Mack truck ahead.
Akinbiyi said operatives of TRACE and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were immediately deployed to the scene for rescue operations.
He added that the injured victims had been taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere-Remo, while the accident vehicles were towed off the road to restore the free flow of traffic.
