Three people were stabbed in Rome as 80 people believed to be Lazio “ultra’’ fans attacked some 70 Real Sociedad supporters on Wednesday night.

The Italian news agency ANSA reported on Thursday.

The agency reported that the attackers ran off when police arrived at the scene of the clashes in Rome’s centre.

Some of them clashing were identified by the police personel.

Police were checking CCTV footage in the area, ANSA, according to the report.

According to the report, the Spanish fans were in a bar in the city centre when they were attacked.

Real Sociedad is due to play Lazio in Rome on Thursday evening.
