The Association of Progressive Traders, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, has unveiled a new secretariat, clinic and upgraded shop blocks as part of efforts to improve the welfare of traders and enhance commercial activities within the complex.

The facilities were commissioned yesterday, September 24, 2026, during a ceremony held at the association’s complex along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The project, championed by the President of the association, Chief Eric Ifeanyichukwu Ilechukwu, also featured the unveiling of the association’s award records.

The ceremony commenced at 10:00 a.m. with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Onyelo Peter Chijoke, of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Archangel Catholic Church, Abulado, Satellite Town.

The high point of the event was the official commissioning of the new facilities by the Executive Director of the Trade Fair Complex, Mrs Veronica Ndanusa.

Among those in attendance were the project engineer, Emmanuel Akinpelu, who supervised the construction of the facilities; the association’s Chief Security Officer, Chief Chuka Christian Mekauwulu; members of the Board of Trustees; representatives of Fidelity Bank and Taj Bank; as well as staff, traders and other guests.

Speaking at the ceremony, stakeholders described the new secretariat as a symbol of unity and progress for the association.

They also said the clinic would provide a timely health and welfare service for traders, customers and other users of the complex, while the upgraded shop blocks would improve the business environment and support commercial activities at the Trade Fair Complex.

The ceremony ended with prayers, group photographs and commendations for the leadership of the Association of Progressive Traders for its commitment to infrastructure development and the welfare of its members.
