Troops arrest female firearms courier, accomplice in Plateau
Troops of the Nigerian Army have apprehended a female firearms courier and her accomplice at the Barikin Ladi Motor Park in Plateau State, disrupting a weapons smuggling network.
Security expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the arrests on Saturday morning through a post on his official X account.
“In a series of well-coordinated operations, troops of the Nigerian Army successfully apprehended a female arms courier and dismantled a notorious network of terrorists, seizing a significant cache of weapons and ammunition,” Makama reported.
He revealed that on October 17, 2024, troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, arrested **Fidausu Hassan** and **Sani Isah Musa** at Barikin Ladi Motor Park. Intelligence indicated that the suspects were part of a syndicate smuggling arms from Plateau State to terrorists in Zamfara State.
During the operation, troops recovered **505 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition**.
Makama added that during additional raids and ambushes, several terrorists were neutralised, and a high-profile suspect was captured.
In another operation, troops raided the residence of **Alhaji Adamu Bajara**, a wanted terrorist, in Ambakka village, located along the Plateau-Nasarawa border.
“The operation led to the arrest of Bajara, who was on multiple security watchlists. Troops recovered **three AK-47 rifles** and **two rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition** from his residence,” Makama stated, adding that efforts are ongoing to track down Bajara’s accomplices.
Additionally, the troops swiftly responded to a report of cattle rustling in **Mile 8, Pankshin Local Government Area**, recovering **46 stolen livestock** after overpowering the criminals involved.
