The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects for the gruesome murder of a 10-year-old Almajiri boy in Jada Local Government Area.

According to the police, the suspects, identified as Ibrahim Abdul Malik, 27, and Aliyu Abdul Malik, 18, both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada, allegedly killed and beheaded the minor, Abdalla Lawali, of Anguwar Dubai, Jada.

The victim had been reported missing since March 7, 2025, prompting a search by authorities and concerned residents. Acting on credible intelligence, police officers attached to the Jada Divisional Headquarters apprehended the suspects on March 16, 2025.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Adamawa State Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, revealed that the decomposed body of the victim was discovered inside a sack following the suspects’ confession. Further investigations led officers to the suspects’ residence, where they found the boy’s severed head buried in a shallow grave within the premises.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, swiftly deployed security operatives to the scene, and the suspects were taken into custody. They confessed to committing the heinous act, blaming the devil for their actions,” Nguroje stated.

Condemning the act, the Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation and prosecution.

“The CP assures the public that justice will be served and urges parents and guardians to be vigilant while promptly reporting suspicious activities to the police,” Nguroje added.

The arrest marks another major breakthrough in the command’s fight against violent crimes in the state.
