Operatives of the Mashi Division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested two individuals suspected of vandalising high-tension towers in the Mashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Their arrest was disclosed in a statement released by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Sunday evening.
“The Mashi Division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended two suspects in connection with the vandalism of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) 132kV Katsina- Daura line high tension tower members in Mashi Local Government Area of Katsina State,” the statement read in part.
The suspects who have been identified as Hambali Abubakar and Salisu Abubakar, aged 25 and 18 years old respectively, were arrested on August 12.
The TCN further disclosed that the duo are from Yar Riga Village in Mashi LGA.
They were caught with 24 pieces of vandalised high-tension tower members believed to have been removed from Tower T-148 of the 132kV Katsina-Daura line along Yar Riga/Sile Uku Village.
