The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Headquarters Logistics Command has announced that a section of the Murtala Muhammed Airport road axis in Lagos will be temporarily closed on Saturday, 18 October 2025, to facilitate a 10-kilometre walk/jog exercise.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, the exercise, set to commence at 6 a.m. and conclude by 8 a.m., is part of routine physical fitness activities aimed at maintaining the health, well-being, and operational readiness of NAF personnel.
Ologun explained that vehicular movement will be restricted along certain sections of Airport Road and adjoining routes, specifically the stretch from Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MMA2) to Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
She urged members of the public to plan alternative routes and to adhere to instructions from NAF officials and security personnel deployed to manage traffic.
“The Command assures the public that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth, safe, and hitch-free exercise,” Ologun stated, adding that normal traffic flow would resume immediately upon completion of the activity.
She further expressed regret for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause and thanked Lagos residents for their understanding and cooperation.
The announcement underscores the NAF’s ongoing commitment to operational fitness while balancing public convenience around key transport corridors in Lagos.
