Mudiame University expands reach, welcomes new students

Mudiame University has reinforced its commitment to academic excellence and innovation as it formally admitted a new cohort of students during its fourth matriculation ceremony.

The event, held at the university’s campus in Irrua, Edo State, showcased the institution’s steady growth and ambition to become a leading force in science, technology, and business education.

Addressing the gathering, the founder and chancellor, Prof. Sunny Eromosele, described the occasion as a testament to the university’s resilience and strategic vision.

Eromosele noted that since its maiden matriculation in 2022, student enrolment has continued to grow each year, underscoring the institution’s reputation as a centre of learning and innovation.

He reaffirmed the university’s mission to contribute to societal development through advanced teaching, cutting-edge research, and impactful community service.

A key highlight of the Chancellor’s speech was the university’s expanding international collaborations, particularly its recent agreement with University West in Sweden.

Eromosele explained that the partnership would provide students with global exposure through exchange programmes and research initiatives, ensuring they graduate with not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills relevant to today’s rapidly evolving industries.

Beyond academics, Mudiame University continues to focus on empowering students through several initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-sufficiency.

The Chancellor reiterated the institution’s commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment, citing the Employability Guarantee Scheme, which guarantees automatic job placements for outstanding graduates.

He also highlighted the university’s industry placement programme, which connects students with top-tier organisations for hands-on experience, and the entrepreneurial development scheme designed to nurture business-minded graduates.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Danjuma Danshik Dajab, congratulated the new students on securing a place at Mudiame University and encouraged them to fully immerse themselves in the institution’s rich academic culture.

He reminded them that their admission was based on merit and urged them to take advantage of the university’s resources, including its e-library, research facilities, and international study programmes, to enhance their academic and professional development.

Professor Dajab also took the opportunity to caution students against engaging in activities that could undermine their future, warning that the university maintains a strict disciplinary code.

He stressed the importance of upholding the institution’s values of excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Expressing gratitude to Professor Eromosele for his vision in establishing Mudiame University, the Vice-Chancellor assured parents that their children would graduate as globally competitive professionals equipped with the skills needed to drive change in agriculture, food safety, energy, health, manufacturing, oil and gas, security, and transportation.

He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to exceeding expectations and preparing students to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
