President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing the assault as a “barbaric and cowardly” act of terror against innocent civilians.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, claimed the lives of about 30 residents, including women and children, while several homes were set ablaze.

Reacting to the incident, the President vowed that those responsible would be tracked down and brought to justice, insisting that criminal elements would not be allowed to undermine the peace and improved security recorded in Kaduna State in recent times.

“I have directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators, secure the release of abducted persons and restore normalcy to the community,” the President said.

President Tinubu also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture through improved operational capacity, better-equipped security personnel and sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks threatening national peace.

He urged residents of affected communities to support security agencies with timely and credible intelligence to enhance rapid response and prevent further attacks.

The President extended his condolences to the families of those killed, as well as to Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Government and the people of the state, assuring them of the Federal Government’s resolve to end the wave of violence and restore lasting peace.

The latest attack has further highlighted the lingering security challenges confronting parts of Kaduna State.

According to residents, heavily armed gunmen invaded Naridon village around 11 pm on Sunday, opening fire on sleeping residents and setting homes ablaze.

At least 30 people, including eight children, were killed, while several others sustained injuries. Scores of houses and business premises were also destroyed in the assault.

The killings have triggered widespread outrage, with political leaders, community groups and civil society organisations calling for urgent security intervention and justice for the victims.

The incident is the latest in a series of deadly raids that have plagued communities in southern Kaduna in recent years, despite intensified security operations.

The renewed violence has raised fresh concerns over the need for sustained efforts to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks.
