The Niger Delta Development Agenda (NDDA) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, over the creation of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) and the appointment of the leadership to pilot its affairs.
In a statement on Saturday in Abuja, signed by NDDA Convener, Comr. Iteveh Nurudeen Ekpokpobe, the body congratulated the pioneer Chairman, Chibudom Nwuche; the Managing Director, Usoro Offiong Akpabio; and all executive members listed to the SSDC board.
NDDA commended Akpabio and the National Assembly for their legislative roles geared towards the development of the Niger Delta Region and declared support for the new SSDC management.
It would be recalled that President Tinubu approved the chairman, managing director and executive members of the newly formed SSDC.
The SDDC chairman, Nwuche, hails from Rivers, while the managing director, Akpabio, hails from Akwa-ibom.
The Executive Director of Projects, Hon. Marcus Nie Eji, hails from Rivers; Executive Director Social and Human Capital Development, Engr. Aganaba Preye Steven, hails from Bayelsa State; while Executive Director of Corporate Services, Dr. Timi Alari Ayibatonye, is from Delta State.
Executive Director of Commercial and Environmental Development: Hon. Joseph Ugheoke from Edo, while Executive Director of Finance, Ambassador Sony Abang is from Cross-River.
For state representatives: Cross River: Rt. Hon. Larry Odey; Bayelsa: Charles Zuofa; Akwa Ibom: Dr. Nkereuwem Ebong; Rivers: Engr. Chika Chinedu; Edo: Barrister Femi Oise; and Delta: Dr. Charles Sylvester Enukhowhate, while zonal representatives are North West: Tijani Yahaya Kaura; North East: Tabitha Iliya Sallah; North Central: Alh. Yusuf Rasaq Amao; South East: Joseph Mmamal; and South West: Hon. Bukonola Braimoh.
