Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, Tamuno, visits Jamaica Foreign Affairs Minister

As she winds up her duty as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, Her Excellency, Maureen Tamuno, yesterday paid a farewell courtesy visit to the Jamaican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith.

The meeting was necessary to inform the host government of her successful tour of duty as well as her subsequent departure.

Smith, while thanking Tamuno for her visit, also expressed sadness over her departure.

Smith however, applauded Tamuno’s contribution in advancing bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Jamaica also at Multilateral level.

She further stated that Ambassador Tamuno has left behind big shoe and hopes her successor will build on the achievements so far, Kamina Johnson wished her well on subsequent endeavors.

Ambassador Tamuno was accompanied to this visit by top staff of the Nigeria’s High Commissioner in Jamaica, such as Mr. Tajudeen Abdulkadir, the Minister/Counsellor, Mr. Isaac Akparobi –

Finance Attache, Mrs Agatha Odika – Immigration attaché and Mr Arafat Bage – Counselor officer.
Ambassador Tamuno was appointed as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Jamaica in 2021 by the former President Muhammadu Buhari.
