The Immediate Past Commandant of Nigeria Army Depot, Major General Ahmadu Bello Muhammed, has praised the Nigerian Military School (NMS), Zaria for maintaining an enviable reputations for producing discipline, patriotic and responsible young men who distinguished themselves in the Nigerian Armed Forces and other professions in the country.

Major General Mohammed stated this as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony of the NMS.

He said that the enduring legacy “is a testament to the dedication of the Commandant, Instructors and Staff who continue to mould future leaders for our nation”.

According to him, embracing life after Secondary School such as this is about welcoming change and rising to meet new opportunities, adding that “it is time to dream boldly, set meaningful goals and pursue your passions with determination”.

General Mohammed pointed out that “in today’s evolving world, adaptability and a hunger for continuous learning are more critical than ever”, as he reminded them that the tools and knowledge that serve them today may quickly become outdated and likely irrelevant tomorrow.

While he encouraged the outgoing students to embrace lifelong learning, be open to innovation and stay curious, Mohammed noted, “technology, globalization and shifting global landscapes will bring new challenges, but with courage and right mindset these will become your stepping stones to greatness.”

The Special Guest of Honour advised the outgoing students to believe on their potentials, trust the training and values they have received during their stay in the NMS “and let your integrity guide their decisions while their ambitions drive you forward”.

Besides, in his welcome address, the Commandant NMS, Brigadier General O. Ejiga charged the outgoing Boys to be good ambassadors of NMS any where they find themselves.

General Ejiga reminded them that Loyalty, discipline and commitment is what they were trained for and to obey the constitutional authorities.

He congratulated the outgoing Boys for their outstanding performance and a successful completions of their Secondary education.

Meanwhile, the Guest Speaker, Mabolaji Adewumi, Managing Director ABBEY Mortgage Bank, presented a lecture tittled ” Leveraging the Learning Environment in NMS a Pathway for Achieving your future aspirations”.

Mr. Adewumi also commissioned an administrative block he sponsored the renovation and furnished.
