Shettima precides over NEC meeting in Aso Villa

Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently presiding over the National Economic Council (NEC) holding at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
NEC which reconvenes today and holding at the Council Chamber, of the State House, will take a number of decisions including the issue of state police, having received submissions from all states, which was expected to happen in January 2025.
NEC, under Vice President Shettima’s leadership is made up of State governors who play sundry crucial roles, contributing to discussions on economic issues affecting both national and sub-national levels.
The council also helps to develop and harmonize strategies to address challenges alongside other stakeholders like the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria as well as the Minister of Finance.
During the Council meeting, Governors bring regional perspectives, enabling NEC to make informed decisions that reflect diverse state-level economic conditions. Their participation facilitates collaboration between federal and state governments in addressing economic challenges.
