Amid socioeconomic challenges in the country, women have been urged to remain strong and embrace resilience. Speaking at the maiden symposium of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN) Ilupeju/Gbagada and District Society (IGDS) Wing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in Lagos, recently, the Coordinator of the women of the District, Sandra Chinedu-Momah, stressed how women could align with new skills and growth opportunities that match up with present economic realities.

Chinedu-Momah, who spoke on ‘The Total Women: Navigating from Comfort Zone to Growth Zone, said it captured the essence of the district’s plan to empower and mentor its female members to achieve excellence and fulfillment.

She said in reaching the growth zone, women must imbibe entrepreneurial spirit, multi-task and acquire new skills as part of preparations for greater roles and responsibilities.

“Together, we can create a world where the total woman not only navigates from her comfort zone to a growth zone but also inspires others to do the same,” she said.

While urging the women professionals to also prioritise their health in their course of duty, a Wellness Coach, Infinite Health Consult, Chima Ejimofor said: “In striving for growth, you must prioritise health and life to enjoy growth when it finally comes. We must regularly check our health status and not compromise a healthy lifestyle. All of these add up to becoming a total woman.”

Earlier in his opening remarks, Chairman, IGDS, Dr. Kolawole Bisiriyu stated that the symposium aligned with the district’s objectives of ensuring that women are complete on all sides. He challenged women to keep shattering glass ceilings and defy stereotypes.

The symposium embraced multifaceted aspects of women’s journey, including personal and professional development, health and social impact, with experts across fields engaged with participants.
