One of Nigeria’s fintech companies, Plug.ng has launched its Global eSIM service, a digital connectivity solution designed to help Nigerian travellers access mobile data in more than 150 countries without physical SIM cards or expensive roaming charges.

“At Plug.ng, we are constantly exploring ways to make digital experiences simpler and more accessible. The Global eSIM is designed to remove the stress of staying connected while travelling by providing Nigerians with a reliable and convenient connectivity solution wherever they are in the world,” he said.
According to the company, the Global eSIM enables travellers to access mobile data services across multiple countries through an effortless digital process, which eliminates the need for physical SIM cards. Users can also purchase and top up their eSIM plans directly in naira through their Plug.ng balance.
CO-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Plug.ng, Olagunju Adetayo, stated that technology should be a problem solver, today. Also, the Global eSIM is one that provides Nigerian travellers with a seamless way to access connectivity instantly while removing the limitations associated with traditional SIM solutions, which is important.
“We considered ease and flexibility when designing this feature. It takes less than two minutes from purchase to activation, and users can have an eSIM active on their smart devices almost immediately,” he noted.
Plug.ng affirmed its available services across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and the Middle East, and of course Africa. Countries like South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, China, Singapore, Qatar, among others.
The company added that the global eSIM is a data-only service designed for Nigerians that are travelling outside the country and can only be activated when users are physically present in their destination countries.
Speaking also, Chief Marketing and Communication Officer of Plug.ng, Bello Ademola, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to creating tech-driven solutions that combine accessibility, convenience and reliability.
“Our goal is to ensure Nigerians can ensure Nigerians can enjoy seamless digital experiences wherever they are. The Global eSIM is more than a connectivity product; it is a step toward making global mobility easier for our customers,” he added.
The launching of this innovative solution marks the latest addition to Plug.ng’s growing digital community, which includes data subscriptions, airtime purchases, utility bill payments, airtime gifting services and virtual dollar cards for international transactions, and financial services.
The Global eSIM is currently available to customers through the Plug.ng mobile application on Android and iOS devices. At a point in time when the country faces some setbacks in certain areas of her economic structure, which affects Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, Plug.ng has stepped up in the fintech space to close a wide gap.
