The Nigerian passenger, Gloria Ibukun Omisore, who was stranded in Kenya en route to Europe, has successfully returned to Nigeria.

Omisore was stranded in Nairobi after Kenya Airways refused to allow her to continue on her journey because she lacked a Schengen Visa, a requirement to enter Europe.

The airline also said she acted unruly to their employees and threw used sanitary pads at them.

The Spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, refuted the claim and said Omisore only placed the used pads on the table when they required proof that she was bleeding.

Achimugu also lamented that the airline has a long history of harassing Nigerian passengers, just as he rebuked them for trying to make Omisore delete a video she made showing the employees’ unprofessionalism.

He then directed the airline to ensure her safe return to the country or face ramifications.

Giving an update on Tuesday, the NCAA spokesman announced Omisore’s arrival in Lagos.

“A stranded Nigerian passenger is safely home. We remain committed to protecting the rights of all stakeholders,” he said.

He had earlier summoned Kenya Airways to give explanation on the incident and provide proof that sanitary pads were thrown at their employees.

“The meeting with Kenya Airways tomorrow will lead to a determination on this case,” he said.
