The Executive Council on Diplomacy (ECD) has admitted Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States of America, His Excellency Kayode Are, into its Ambassadors Advisory Board.
Welcoming Are into the board on Friday, the ECD described him as its newest member.
The ECD is a platform that brings together ambassadors, U.S. Government officials, CEOs and global executives for high-level dialogues on foreign policy, trade and investment. It facilitates “off-the-record” discussions between government, business and civil society and hosts roundtables, briefings and delegations during UNGA, World Bank/IMF meetings, and in D.C.
The focus Areas of the ECD are geopolitics, economic diplomacy, energy, tech and emerging markets, serving as a bridge between the U.S. Government, private sector and foreign governments.
In January this year, President Bola Tinubu approved the posting of Are, a former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to the United States.
