National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has extended the registration to Nigerians in the diaspora, including Togo, Niger Republic, Ivory Coast and the Republic of Ireland.

The director-general, Aliyu Aziz, reiterated yesterday that the programme was to make the exercise easier for Nigerians in the diaspora to be identified, as government had made National Identification Number (NIN) mandatory for vital transactions.

According to him, the acquisition/renewal of the international passport, opening of bank account, pension services, land transactions, access to legal/health services, driver’s licence, exam registrations, access to government services among others will be difficult without the NIN.

The enrolment in the aforementioned countries will be in partnership with Kevonne Consults Limited, Slogani Consults Nigeria Limited and Knowledge Square Nigeria Limited, all Nigerian-owned firms licensed as agents of NIMC across the globe.
