Nine UNIJOS masters students get German varsity scholarship
Nine Masters of Arts students in Film Culture and Archiving Studies, Department of Theatre and Film Arts at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), are to benefit from the Goethe University, Frankfurt/DAAD Scholarship Programme.
Six of the students will benefit from the domestic component of the scholarship, which includes a monthly residency grant of €425 (about N184,520) to cover for accommodation and living costs in Jos. They are to also enjoy another €425 grant per semester to cover tuition fees for the time span of the scholarship.
The Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications, Abdullahi Abdullahi, said three of the students would benefit from the foreign component, which is valued at €7,925 for a six-month internship programme with the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
“The scholarship entails a grant to cover for international travel logistics, a monthly residence (accommodation and living costs in Frankfurt) and a grant to attend a five-week German Language course at Frankfurt offered by any online language provider of the beneficiary’s choice,” he added.
