A forum on how to enhance responsive governance through quality service delivery and bridging the entrenched performance dichotomy between the private and public sectors is holding in Lagos.

At the yearly event organised by the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD), successful senior career officers in private and public sectors are studying the efficiency indices in the private arena.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Learners’ Forum, President and Chairman of Governing Board of NITAD, Mrs. Janet Jolaoso, said “the goal is to build a responsive public service structure capable of emplacing entrepreneurial spirit strong enough to support the political class to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizenry.” The topic is ‘Private Sector Mindset in Public Service.’

Jolaoso noted that the service at all tiers of government had undergone series of reforms by successive administrations to reposition it and raise the stake to world standard.
