The National Metallurgical Development Centre (NMDC), Jos has expressed its readiness to partner with the Malaysian Smelting Corporation (MSC) to advance Research and Development (R&D) activities in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.

NMDC’s Acting Director General and Chief Executive, Emmanuel Mbaya, stated this in his address at the Nigerian Tin Corporation (NTC) and the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development yesterday.

According to Mbaya, NMDC is desirous of exploring the partnership opportunities to upgrade its machines and equipment, including human capacity development through in-plant training.Responding, leader of the Malaysian team, Dato’ Lee Chung Han, said he was impressed with the quality of facilities at the NMDC and hoped for a rewarding partnership between the MSC, NTC and the centre.
