Amidst the escalating tension generated by Pro-Biafran agitations in the South East, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday received some prominent Igbo politicians from the South East at the Presidential Villa, Abuja

Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, led the delegation whose mission to the Presidential Villa was not disclosed. They came under the aegis of Southeast Group for Change and comprised mainly members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

A State House source however, said the delegation, which comprised mainly the APC leaders in the South East indicated that the leaders were working out modalities to consolidate the stronghold of the party in the region. But Nnamani has not been known to have identified with any of the registered political party, since his exit from the opposition People’s Democratic Party, (PDP).

The visit to the Villa, yesterday came barely 24 hours after security agencies and pro-Biaffran agitators, notably the Independent People of Biafra, (IPOB) reportedly engaged in a bloody clash in Onitsha.
