No seniority in Niger APC – Gov Bago

Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State

Niger State Governor, Muhammad Umaru Bago, has declared that there is no seniority among All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state, adding that old, new and decampees are all equal.

The governor made the declaration during the affirmation ceremony of the newly State Executive Members of the party, held at Government House, Minna, Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Bago explained that APC in the state was able to conduct fair and rancor-free congresses from the ward, local councils, as well as the state levels, which are clear demonstrations of the unity that exists in the party.

Governor Bago noted that the new party officials reflect people’s choices across the 25 local councils of the state.

Bago added, “APC in Niger, all members are one family, no seniority, no first and last. Old, new and even decampees,we are equal.”

While appreciating the Congress Committee for conducting a rancor-free exercise in the state,the governor urged the dissenting voices to come for dialogue, as doors are open for such.

Earlier, the National Vice Chairman of the North Central Zone of the APC, Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, described the ward, local councils, and state congresses held in the state as a complete success, noting that the new officials were carefully selected through a free, fair, and transparent consensus mode as approved by the national body of the party.

Rijau lauded governor Bago for his sustained efforts in keeping the flag of APC flying in Niger State.

The inauguration of the new APC state officials was witnessed by the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, and the senator representing Niger North Senatorial District, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello,as well as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security Senator Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi,among others.
