Alliance for Democratic Action (ADA) has dismissed claims by Democracy Monitors for Credible Election (DMCE) that the recent gubernatorial primary election in Kano State was marred by violence, in which some people died and others injured.

A statement issued by ADA, North West Zonal Coordinator, Dahiru Fagge, indicated that the civil society organisation (CSO) was physically present to observe the primary in the North West states of Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna and Katsina.

During the primary, according to Fagge, security operatives maintained watertight security, hence there was no record of attack or death during and after the exercise in any part of the metropolis.

He expressed regret that DMCE could not provide any evidence during the briefing to prove its claim of violence during the exercise.

“If there were deaths, as they claimed, at least, the lawmaker should have visited the family of his killed supporter to condole with them or visit the injured at home or in the hospital to commiserate with them,” he added.
