The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has said the North will work with other Nigerians to produce a competent and committed Nigerian leadership that will restore confidence in the country’s capacity to survive and rebuild itself.

In a statement, yesterday, in Abuja, the Director, Publicity and Advocacy, NEF, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) dominate the political landscape, adding that Nigerians will benefit from more options to improve competition and broaden the selection process.

The statement reads: “The forum took note of the worsening security situation in the country, despite claims by the government to the contrary. Politicians and influential people are worsening the nation’s fault lines by the manner they seek political advantages through the exploitation of threats to our unity and peaceful co-existence.”
