NPC solicits media support for credible, successful census in Anambra

The National Population Commission (NPC), Anambra State, has solicited support of the media towards ensuring a credible and successful 2023 population and housing census in the state.

In a keynote address presented during a one day capacity building workshop for journalists on Effective Reporting Of The 2023 Population And Housing Census,’ organised by the Commission in Awka, the state capital, yesterday, the Federal Commissioner, Anambra State, Chidi Ezeoke, assured that preparations are in top gear for successful implementation of the census project.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Getting The People Involved,’ he said the Commission would, no doubt, need the support of stakeholders, especially the media, to deliver credible and reliable data it can use for sustainable development planning.

“Over the years, the Commission has invested considerable time and resources in planning, drawing from its rich institutional experience spanning two census and tested professionals, to give a truly digital and scientific census that will generate date for national planning.
