NPC to recruit 30,000 field staff in Anambra for 2023 census
The National Population Commission (NPC) has disclosed that about 30,000 field officers will be recruited for the 2023 National Population and Housing Census in Anambra State.
Speaking at the inauguration of online e-recruitment portal for the exercise, in Awka, yesterday, the Federal Commissioner representing the Commission in the state, Mr. Chidi Ezeoke, stressed that they adopted the method to ensure fairness and transparency in the process of recruitment.
Ezeoke noted that the number of functionaries to be recruited in each category would depend on the number of available vacancies in each state, which will be derived largely from the total number of enumeration areas in the state
According to him, the categories of the field staff include: facilitators, training centre administrators, monitoring and evaluation officers, data quality managers, data quality assistants, supervisors and enumerators.
He further explained that the quality of the recruitment process would reflect on the quality of data to be collected, and, ultimately, the success of the census.
