NSCDC arrests 11 suspected vandals in Delta

Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), yesterday, paraded 11 people arrested for allegedly vandalising crude oil pipes in Evurode area of Ughelli South Local Council of the state.

Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), yesterday, paraded 11 people arrested for allegedly vandalising crude oil pipes in Evurode area of  Ughelli South  Local Council of the state.
  
The Commandant, Mr. Akinsanya Abiodun, who paraded the suspects in Asaba, said some of them were arrested by 181 Amphibious Battalion Operation Delta Safe of the Nigerian Army.
  
Abiodun explained that those arrested, including one George Umukoro and 10 others were handed over to the NSCDC for prosecution due to the robust synergy and collaboration enjoyed by both agencies. 

 
He stated that George Umukoro, 66, engaged the services of Adu Peter, 62 ; Luck Efekerhi, 66y; Thomas Umukoro 60; Felix Iku 45;  Efe  Otoborisi, 43; Henry Oshevire, 41; Eruovuho Akparugo, 32; Sunday Godwin, 36; Igwe Shedrach, 30 and Orava Adiza, 41 to transport the suspected vandalised crude oil pipes to unknown destination.
   
The commandant, however, said vandalism was gradually becoming a thing of the past in the state, noting that “the reduction in vandalism, general crime and criminality is not unconnected with the Commandant General’s (CG) new year message where he charge officers and men to be ruthless to criminals. 
   
He assured that the command would smoke out all vandals and criminals out of the state.

Abiodun asked Deltans to go about their legitimate business without fear of intimidation or molestation, stating that the suspects will be charged to court soon.
